John did do a good job when he decided to turn up. However, he was not reliable and would always ask for money upfront..Also , he never came back to finish the job, even though he was paid to.
I have been in the trade for 22 years. I worked for dulux before I set up on my own 10 years ago. I undertake all aspects of internal/external painting and decorating with a professional, friendly and reasonably priced service. We had the delight of having Pierre and Jean redecorate our entire apartment. I have used decorators several times over the last few years, and these guys are by some margin the best. I also offer basic electrical services within my legal capability. I am currently retraining to gain the necessary qualifications in this field, allowing me to join a competent person scheme. As such, I am currently able to provide fault finding services, or install basic electrical fittings. I have been developing my practical skillset since childhood, always working with my father and grandfather around the house. From this origin, I have since been in the engineering field both electrically and mechanically, but decided to return to my genetical roots. Lee and Wayne did a superb job with the painting and decorating in our house. The quote was reasonable with the scope of work, their attention to detail was second to none and you could tell they were passionate about their profession. AVOID AT ALL COSTS I can't recommend Tom. Previously TH&Jones Ltd he has changed the company name. He has left us with an extension that doesn't meet building regulations and needs to be taken down. Our house unsalable. I have an independent report to support it. Insufficient foundation, no damp course, insufficient insulation, incorrect installation of roof. He said he would rectify if we paid for 'things unquoted' but failed to show exactly what. We haven't heard from him in months. Stay away!!
